Today’s technology has given anyone with a laptop and Internet connection the ability to become a “journalist” reporting on whatever strikes his or her fancy. The audience for blogs, wiki, video-sharing sites and other technology is enormous, worldwide, and poses a constant and instant threat to a company’s reputation. Engaging with social media means you are engaging with consumers who already have a voice. But it’s also a two-way street, and emerging media can also be used to enhance a company’s reputation.
