Increasing Awareness of Journalism Program
In an effort to increase the number of students enrolling as journalism majors at a state university in New England, we created a 5–year marketing plan and developed the strategy, messages, and printed materials that targeted potential students and their parents. We created a statewide speakers bureau, recruited alumni to engage the prospective community, and launched a first of its kind statewide high school journalism day on the university campus. The program achieved the desired results ensuring the future of the journalism department.
