Peter G. Mirijanian
Senior Counselor – Media Relations/Strategy
Peter Mirijanian is a recognized national expert on public relations and crisis communications issues. He serves as a respected advisor to companies and individuals facing reputation challenges under the glare of the national media. His background includes more than two decades of experience at the highest levels of politics and corporate communications in Washington, D.C.
Mirijanian specializes in developing and executing communications strategies surrounding litigation matters and high-stakes reputation challenges. His clients include some of the nations top law firms and corporate brands. Mirijanian’s practice concentrates on a variety of high profile topics, including class action suits, proposed corporate mergers, international trade disputes, casino gaming and public health issues.
Utilizing decades-long relationships with the national press corps, Mirijanian initiates and manages media coverage and editorials that have appeared in national outlets, including The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, along with national broadcast networks. He has also managed media inquiries and served as a spokesperson on several high-profile cases including the Suzuki vs. Consumer Reports Samurai rollover controversy.
Mirijanian is often asked to provide his perspective on public relations and crisis communications matters for national publications and television news programs including: NBC's Today Show, MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews, and the FOX News Channel.
Previously, he was a founding principal and Vice President of the DCS Group and worked for three years in corporate advocacy as a Senior Counselor at Powell Tate, a Washington, D.C., public affairs firm. He also led non-profit media campaigns while at Fenton Communications.
Mirijanian has worked as a political media consultant, as northeast regional coordinator for People for the American Way, for the non-profit constitutional liberties organization, and, in 1984, was a press aide in the office of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-MA.).
Mirijanian graduated magna cum laude from Drew University and earned a Master of Arts in Public Policy from Georgetown University. He lives and works in Washington, D.C.
